IT has taken over communication, business management, banking, and other human activities. Information technologies provide people with convenience in operation and other advantages. However, the development of IT has facilitated cyber-crimes committed by hackers. Thus, to deal with this issue, Zayed University should open hacking classes for their cyber security students. Students will learn to recognize software weakness and will be able to design more secure systems. To deal with hacking cases, the government needs individuals with the knowledge of hacking. Therefore, it is necessity to teach cyber security students hacking.

First, in the information technology industry, one of the most important tasks is to ensure that systems are secure and protected against intruders. For the reason, Zayed University’s cyber security students should be equipped with the knowledge of hacking in order to recognize software weakness. Hackers take advantage of systems’ shortcomings to conduct their illegal activities and access confidential information (Caldwell, 2011). If students learn to recognize weak software, they will be able to eliminate the chances of hackers penetrating systems and acquiring information. As a result, the rate of cyber-crimes will decrease. In addition, these classes will equip students with the knowledge that they require to strengthen software and to make it more secure.

Second, the government faces great challenges when it comes to dealing with hacking cases. This is because many people fear to express their knowledge of hacking since most of the universities do not offer hacking classes. Zayed University can help to solve this problem by offering hacking classes for cyber security students. Thus, this will benefit not only the IT industry but also the government. Apart from acquiring the relevant knowledge, all the stakeholders will be able to expose hackers and their techniques, which will lead to disciplinary actions being taken against cyber criminals. As a result, cyber-crimes rates will decrease due to the actions of information technology experts who will be able to prevent hacking. It is important to consider that in the current world, most people rely on information technology to transfer data that may contain confidential information. Therefore, teaching cyber security students hacking classes will ensure that confidential reports will not be accessed by unauthorized personnel (Richet, 2013).

On the other hand, since the inception of information technologies, people with hacking knowledge have been using their skills for personal gains or for commercial interests (Bowker, 2012). That is why many people argue that teaching students hacking will increase the rate of cyber-crimes. It is true that many professionals do not practice hacking, even if they possess the needed skills, because they have certain ethical principles. But most people would be tempted to use their abilities for personal gains. Therefore, cyber-crime rates will rise due to the introduction of such courses. In addition, in order to introduce hacking classes, one first should design special rules and regulations together with a code of ethics to guide and direct cyber-security professionals. The rules should ensure that going against professional ethics will be punishable by law (Harper et al., 2011). Such guidelines, however, do not exist now. Thus, Zayed University must not add hacking courses to its curriculum because there are no effective tools that would govern the activity of cyber security students.

Thus, introducing hacking classes to cyber security students will add more harm to the information technology industry (Fafinski, 2009). In addition, it will increase the ability of trained experts to trace cyber criminals as well as design software that is not easy to hack.

In conclusion, Zayed University should acknowledge that the information technology industry is the most developing industry in the world. It has penetrated almost all human activities. It is evident that hacking is a prominent threat in the information technology industry. It is threatening companies, businesses, governments, and individuals. The most convenient way of dealing with the problem is training cyber security students through the introduction of hacking classes. It will help reduce the rate of cyber-crimes, loss of data, and loss of money by the general public, authorities, and organizations.
