Perhaps, the Darius 1 era was the one, which changed the city of Herodotus. The Persians under the Emperor Darius 1 conquered and suppressed Egypt and other western nations in their quest for more territory and power. Hence, it is believed that the Ionians, who are from the house of Carian, the father of Hederotus, fought for the Persians during the Darius era (546/545BC). Darius managed to suppress and present the era of torture in the regions he conquered destroying the city of Miletus, which was the home city of Herodotus, in that way. Afterwards, Darius chose his nephew and later son-in-law Mardonius to govern and represent Ionia. Mardonius managed to bring outstanding changes strongly restoring democracy in various cities of Ionia, which was the subject of the Books of Herodotus’ History, particularly Book 5 and 6. Darius campaigns destroyed cities to a great extent. He conquered city by city through attacks on land and by the use of naval power, which led to the death of inhabitants, while others were taken as slaves or repatriated. At the end, he also had to keep order in the conquered cities, hence, concessions leading to the appointment of Mardonius. The Carians also participated in the Ionian revolt and served as strong mercenaries for a number of Pharaohs. Moreover, they took part in various military campaigns such as the Nubia campaign, when the house was under the King of Lydia, Croesus.
In brief, Herodotus of Halicarnassus (490s/480s -420s BC) who is also known as Bodrum, found in the Aegan city of Turkey, was born in the city of Caria in Greece about 490 BC. Caria was 500 years old at that time. Herodotus’ father was Carian, and his mother was Greek. It is also noted that a relative named Panyassis, who was uncle or cousin, wrote a famous epic poem containing 14 books about Heracles, around 30 fragments of which remain. Incredibly, Carian was the Indo-European language, which was slightly different from Greek, but formed part of the Greek language as it was part of the Luwec Greek Group. The Luwec group consists of seven parts totally, which include the Hieroglphic and Luwec, Lycian and Sidetic, Carian and Cuneiform, and Pisidian. The Luwec group is part of the Anatolian branch of the Greek language. The Carian language is primarily found and written in the inscriptions, which are in the form of stone monuments and coins sometimes. The language was just recently deciphered in Egypt, where the majority of the inscriptions are found. Herodotus, after taking journeys around the major Greek nations in the world, managed to settle in the Athenian colony in the southern part of Italy. He managed to visit most of the Persian Empire, Southern Italy, and possibly Egypt. His work is commonly known as Historie or Inquiry as he called it, which means that the title strongly emphasizes the role and the history of particular kinship or rather reciprocity. In his work, the author examines the popular wars between the Greeks and foreigners in the period around 545BC and 420BC and their achievements in detail.
Ryszard Kapuscinski was born in March 4, 1932 in Pinsk, which was part of Poland and now part of Belarus. Later, he was taken to Poland by his mother in 1945 in search of his father, who died during the World War 2. In his schooling days, Ryszard attended the Warsaw University from 1952-1956 studying history. Upon his graduation at age of 23, he began his journalism career, which started his long journey from one continent to another. He travelled in India, Pakistan and Afghanistan and, finally, made his overseas trip to Africa, during which he became a renowned journalist until his death in January 23, 2007, aged 74.
Kapuscinski is commonly known for his exemplary and nonfiction reportages about travels, which he began to report and produce in his 40 years. One of his most famous reports is about the fall of Portuguese Angola, which he named Another Day of Life (1976). The reportage describes the fall of Portuguese since he was the only foreign reporter, who was left in the capital Luanda, while the Portuguese packed their belongings and left the former colony under struggle of the Cold War. The fall of the Portuguese colony in Angola led to the collapse of the Portuguese fascism, which was abandoned to the rival east and west blocs. Further, he also reports about the opposing South African, Cuban, and American CIA mercenaries in the Cold War.
In 1978, his report The Emperor described the fall of Haile Selassie, who was the king of Ethiopia at that time. Haile Selassie ruled Ethiopia like the king of kings, the lion of Judah and many other nicknames from 1930 till the military coup in 1974. In early 1982, the shah of shahs covered another power’s fall, in which the Americans had the backing of Shah Reza Pahlavi from Iran. His fall was due to a certain uprising in his country, which Islamic zed quickly. In many reports, he showed the mighty fall of kings and their kingdoms, but the most of them had been the same during decades in the reporting across Africa.
Herodotus and Kapuscinski mainly have the same link, in which, among the many reports about travels across Europe, Greek history and polish translations showed that they gone through the same places. Kapuscinski took his entire time covering the history in the third world countries, mostly about leadership and power struggles of the majority of colonies on the continent. In general, these phenomena belong to the politics of the 20th century such as the Cold War and its impact on the colonies or stabilization of nations around the world. Even it seemed easy in his reports to get insight and knowledge about the happenings in the world, they made him the icon. His travels created and generated personal experiences in the foreign lands in the ww2 20th -21st century with those of Herodotus in the 6th -5th centuries BC.

Herodotus lived in a Greek City under the rule of the Persian king, and Kapuscinski is a Polish, but, through the development of history, they are brought together by the political climate in the world. Most of them talk about happenings of the centuries before stabilization came into those periods, in which colonies were trying to rule the majority.
Therefore, there is a lot of information, which Herodotus generally used to concern customs and beliefs of non-Greeks (Egyptian, Persians, Indians, Scythians) from the criteria being attached from the 5th century in Greece. In other words, Kapuscinski also accounts for the decolonization of colonies and nations around the globe in the 20th -21st centuries. Thus, there are two similar historians/ reporters of the age between the BC and the centuries of less stabilization in the world. Kapuscinski was a field reporter, who described the events as soon as they occurred.
